Clean. Controlled. Trackable. MyPhoto5 automates every step between the end user’s photo and your card or HR system — with no staff editing required.
In 2010, Emory University came to our parent company, Mango Bay, with a challenge: student ID photo collection was a disaster. Staff spent weeks manually rotating, cropping, approving, and rejecting photos, while students stood in long lines waiting to get their picture taken. Photos came in with sunglasses, hats, bad lighting, and multiple people in the frame. Technology was supposed to make things easier — it hadn’t.
We studied the problem, ran R&D, and built a solution that made submitting a student ID photo as simple as posting to social media. Students were happy. Card office staff got their time back. In 2014, we launched MyPhoto as a standalone product.
In 2021, we launched MyPhoto5 — a major upgrade that added AI facial recognition, automatic background removal, an intuitive content management system, and a next-generation admin dashboard. Today, MyPhoto5 is used by millions of students at top universities across the United States and Canada.
MyPhoto5 is a subsidiary of Mango Bay, a Cleveland-based web design, digital marketing, and managed IT company founded in 1997. Backed by 25+ years of technology expertise, MyPhoto5 offers 24/7 support, continuous software updates, and the flexibility to run on-premise or in the cloud.

After more than a decade solving the photo submission problem in higher education, we’re bringing the same proven workflow to Healthcare and Enterprise — two industries where photo capture for ID, credentialing, and access badges is just as important, and just as broken.
The core problem is the same everywhere: manual photo handling wastes staff time, creates errors, and slows down the people who need to be working. MyPhoto5 fixes that — regardless of the industry.
